ICAS Events and Announcements

The International Convention of Asian Scholars is making the following announcements:

70 Years of Asian Studies

The joint AAS-ICAS meeting ‘70 Years of Asian Studies’ in Honolulu (31 March – 3 April 2011) expects to draw an attendance of at least 4000 participants, exhibitors, and visitors. ICAS Book Prize 2011 Long List

Nearly 200 books were submitted for the ICAS Book Prize 2011 (IBP) from 40 renowned academic publishers worldwide. The Long list for both the humanities and social sciences categories were announced. In each category 15 books have been long listed. Likewise the short lists for the Best PhD in the humanities and social sciences, containing 3 titles each, were announced. Asian Book Series Focus

The Newsletter of the Internationa Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) will include a special focus section on Asian Book Series which will
be inserted inthe AAS-ICAS Meeting bag. Nearly 50% of all books submitted for the IBP 2011 are part of a series. It made us curious about the story behind the world of Asian Book Series.
